How do Mini-Split Systems Work?

Mini-Split systems operate similarly to the process of traditional central air-conditioners. However, ductless units blow air directly into a room from the unit. A single-zone ductless air conditioner has only one outdoor and indoor unit. If you want to heat or cool more than one space, the multi-zone ductless system is for you! This multi-zone ac includes up to eight indoor units for each outdoor unit.


Both system types work by linking an outdoor compressor to units in individual rooms. The indoor units contain evaporative coils that are cooled by refrigerant when warm air from the room blows over the unit. The refrigerant then transfers the contained heat to the outdoor unit, where it is released to the outside. Mini-split systems are designed to fit your ideal home comfort level.
